Raven Ranch

Tent Camping at it's best!

Good old school tent camping.

At Raven Ranch Campground we are attempting to help unplug America from their electronic device's so here there's NO Internet, we provide No Wi-fi in fact there are No "service's" and what you bring in must be taken out.

Raven Ranch is located in Costilla County, Colorado situated among the Rito Seco foothills, 18 miles southeast of the town of Fort Garland, where stands the historic fort that was the last command of Kit Carson. Fort Garland is approximately 200 miles south of Denver and approximately 200 miles north of Albuquerque. Just 6 miles southwest is the town of San Luis, the oldest established town in Colorado.

Raven Ranch is conveniently near Alamosa, Colorado -- you'll be able to take advantage of the best of both rural and city living. Southern Colorado offers such a diverse climate and terrain, that is has become a hotspot for outdoor seekers to come and explore the many thousands of acres of public land and National Parks.

The campground has legal access along Rito Seco Road, located along the southern boundary of the campground. This 40 acre campground has been split into two 20 acre campgrounds.

The campground is rather flat near the southern boundary along Rito Seco with sagebrush and prairie grasses. Heading towards the north the terrain gets quite aggressive as the campground has the highest point of the entire property at over 8600'; from this vantage point you can see the entire San Luis Valley to the west and off the back side to the north, majestically standing in the distance Mt. Blanca, the centerpoint of this entire valley and region. Mt. Blanca is truly the beginning of the Rocky Mountain range starting there with the Sangre de Cristo's.

Once you climb to the highest point on this property, the tree cover is quite heavy with pinon pines. Wildlife trails abound along this ridge and camping sites are endless.

Strict No TRACE camping.
